Hodder & Stoughton has commissioned Around the World in 80 Years: A Life of Adventure from explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes to celebrate his 80th birthday.
Non-fiction publisher Rupert Lancaster acquired world English language rights from Cathryn Summerhayes at Curtis Brown. The book will be published in hardback, audiobook and e-book on 7th March 2024.
Fiennes climbed Everest after a heart bypass operation, has run seven marathons on seven continents in seven days and completed the first surface polar circumnavigation of Earth. Around the World in 80 Years is a selection of Fiennes’ "greatest hits" from his published work and contains "moving new tributes" from other adventurers, climbers, friends and colleagues.
Lancaster commented: "I’ve had the honour and very real pleasure to have worked with Ran on seven books. Aside from his extraordinary achievements as an explorer, he relishes his role as a storyteller, opening our eyes to the magic of remote places."
