Hodder & Stoughton has netted nine books from romance author Lucy Score.
Fiction publisher Kimberley Atkins bought UK and British Commonwealth rights in print and e-book to three new novels in a deal struck by Flavia Viotti at Bookcase Agency. The deal also included the rights to six of Lucy’s bestselling novels that have previously been independently published by the author. These include three standalone romances: By a Thread; Forever Never; The Worst Best Man and the Benevolence series of books (Pretend You’re Mine, Finally Mine and Protecting What’s Mine). Hodder & Stoughton has re-jacketed these six books and will be releasing new editions on 13th July 2023
Hodder previously published Score’s Knockemout series, including Things We Never Got Over and Things We Hide From The Light, both popular on BookTok. Hodder will be releasing Things We Left Behind, the third book in the series, in September 2023 with an “unmissable and far-reaching" consumer marketing campaign. Plans include pre-order competitions, retailer partnerships, bespoke point-of-sale merchandising, and Hodder’s biggest TikTok and digital campaign to date.
Atkins said: "I could not be happier to continue working with the brilliant Lucy Score – she is a complete powerhouse author writing swoony small-town rom-coms packed full of big feelings and unforgettable characters. It is a joy to publish the Knockemout books on the Hodder Fiction list and I am so excited for fans to discover Lucy’s other books this summer.”
Score added: “I am thrilled to continue my relationship with Hodder & Stoughton! Kimberley and the rest of the team have been wonderful partners with my Knockemout series. I’m looking forward to getting more books into the hands of UK readers!”
