To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Gordon Ramsay’s three Michelin star restaurant, Hodder & Stoughton are publishing Restaurant Gordon Ramsay: A Story of Excellence – “an intimate look behind the scenes of one of the best restaurants in the world".
Nicky Ross, editorial director at Yellow Kite, acquired world rights from Simon Green, then at CAA, as part of an existing deal. It will be published in August.
The publisher says the book will “describe the constantly evolving quest for culinary perfection as Gordon and his brilliant team challenge themselves to stay ahead of the game in the ever-competitive world of fine dining".
With personal reminiscences and stories from across the years, alongside 40 signature recipes with chef patron Matt Abé, showcasing the creativity and attention to detail that goes into creating perfection on the plate, it goes on that the book “offers a fascinating insight into the unforgettable experience of eating at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay".
The book will be printed and bound with interleaved paper stock, and “lavishly” illustrated with “stunning” photography by John Carey. Hodder will publish on 17th August 2023, priced at £60. Mobius will publish Restaurant Gordon Ramsay on 12th September 2023, priced at USD $75 and CAN $90.
Ramsay said: “I remain as hungry for success now as I was 25 years ago, and perfection remains the constant goal. I have always thought that at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay we have a chance to indulge our guests, delivering an experience that will forever remain in their memory. They step inside and immerse themselves in the moment. Three hours later they step out again, full of wonder. Those three hours are a taste of the sublime that takes an incredible team to deliver. To maintain that level of perfection every day for 25 years is extraordinary.
“Working on this book and looking back over the highest of the highs and some very difficult lows, that have all contributed to the last 25 years has been truly incredible, this book feels like a wonderfully fitting tribute and legacy to everyone who has been a part of this amazing journey.”
Ross added: “Arguably the best chef of his generation, Gordon Ramsay has had an illustrious career and built a global restaurant empire. But always at the heart of it, tucked away in a quiet Chelsea street in London, is the jewel in his crown. The tiny dining room, which he opened over 25 years ago, has built a legendary reputation and been awarded three Michelin stars for the past 22 years.”
