Hodder & Stoughton has partnered with the charity Veganuary to create a "small, beautiful" book promising to make giving up meat and dairy products "easy and fun".
How to Go Vegan: The why, the how, and everything you need to make going vegan easy will be full of "quick tips" and address motivations to go vegan including animal welfare, the environment and health benefits, tips for eating out, easy replacements and getting the right nutrients. According to Hodder it will be "a lifesaver for vegans, those wanting to give veganism a try and their friends and family".
Actress and vegan activist Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films, will contribute a foreword to the book, which is being put together by the Veganuary team.
Commissioning Editor Maddy Price acquired world rights from the founders of the charity, whose aim has been to inspire people to try going vegan for January and throughout the rest of the year. How to Go Vegan will be published on 28th December 2017 to coincide with the launch of Veganuary 2018.
Price said: "More and more people are thinking about veganism and ways in which they can live more compassionately. What I love about Veganuary is that they are all about celebrating food and life – it’s a really positive movement. Their book demystifies veganism and will be a real gift for anyone considering making the change."
Matthew Glover, co-founder of Veganuary, said: "We are thrilled to be working with Hodder to bring the work we do at Veganuary to a wider platform. Being vegan doesn’t have to be tough or scary and we want as many people as possible to give it a try. Our book is designed to help people along that journey, and will be a useful tool for friends and family too."
