Hot Key Books acquires rights for multi-book deal with Natasha Preston
Hot Key Books, an imprint of Bonnier Books UK, has acquired rights for a multi-book deal with thriller author Natasha Preston. The acquisition also includes six of Preston’s backlist titles: The Haunting, The Twin, The Dare, The Lake, The Fear, The Island and three upcoming titles.
Emma Matthewson, executive publisher at Hot Key Books, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights including e-book and audio from Hannah Babcock—director, subsidiary rights at Random House Children’s Books.
The Party, the first frontlist title, is set in the heart of the remote English countryside and follows Bessie and her closest friends as they gather at a remote castle for a secret party. But when one of them dies, the party takes a lethal turn.
Preston said: "It has been a dream of mine to see my paperbacks in the UK for the last ten years. I’m absolutely thrilled to be working with Emma and the team at Hot Key Books to bring my thrillers to my home country."
Matthewson stated: "I could not be more excited to be publishing such a range of edge-of-seat thrillers on the Hot Key list. We cannot wait to introduce our readers to Natasha’s twisting and turning plots!"
The Party will be publishing first in e-book on 3rd December 2024 and in paperback in January 2025, with further books set to be published throughout 2025 and 2026. The backlist publishing schedule will be as follows: e-book first on 26th September 2024, with print editions following in 2025.
