Hot Key signs Irfan Master

Bonnier Publishing imprint Hot Key Books has signed a three book deal with author Irfan Master, author of A Beautiful Lie (Bloomsbury Children’s).

The first book, Out of Heart, is a YA novel about how a grandfather dying and donating his heart affects his remaining family (particular his grandson Adam), as well as the recipient of the heart, who has no family of his own. Release date is set for April 2017.

The second book is about two Indian boys in the court of Queen Victoria and the third is a fairy tale picture book. Titles and release dates are yet to be announced.

Publishing director Emma Matthewson acquired world rights from Jodie Hodges of United Agents.

Master, who was shortlisted for the Waterstone's Children's Book Prize and nominated for the 2011 Branford Boase Award for A Beautiful Lie, said: “I’m delighted that the wonderful Hot Key books will be publishing my next few books, which are so different from each other. It’s a real honour to join such an exciting list.”
