Head of Zeus has snaffled The Little Library Parties: 50 Recipes to Share with Friends by Kate Young, her fourth cookbook in the Little Library series.
Editorial director Madeleine O’Shea acquired world all language rights from Zoe Ross at United Agents. It will be published in flexi-bound hardback on 13th October 2022.
In the recipe book, Young draws on her experience catering for weddings and events, and her love of cooking for friends, to provide 50 sensational new recipes for entertaining. "From dinner party feasts and canapes for a crowd, to barbeques, tea parties, house parties and that all important morning-after tonic, Kate provides delicious and joyful recipes – as always, inspired by her favourite literature – to ensure your get-together tastes delicious," the synopsis reads.
O’Shea said: "Kate Young’s book brilliantly encapsulates the joy of sharing food with those you love, be it at an intimate dinner party, a tea party in the park, or a raucous house party. The recipes are delicious, the writing is full of warmth and wit, and the photography is mouth-watering. The Little Library Parties is the perfect book to get you in the mood to really celebrate... finally!"
Young is an award-winning food writer and cook. Her Little Library Cookbooks, which include The Little Library Cookbook, The Little Library Year, and The Little Library Christmas feature food inspired by famous works of literature. She has written for various publications, including the Guardian, Prospect Magazine, Slightly Foxed, Stylist, delicious, and Sainsbury’s Magazine. Young also caters for weddings and private events, and works behind the counter in her local bookshop.
"I’m so delighted to be working with the brilliant team at Head of Zeus on my fourth book: a celebration of parties in literature and in real life," she said. "It’s a book I began in those years when parties were illegal, and is hugely close to my heart. I can’t wait to share my recipes, all the best bits of having your pals round, and Yuki Sugiura’s gorgeous photos with you all."
