Head of Zeus is launching its children’s list, Zephyr, with a title by Michael Fishwick.
The White Hare, aimed at readers aged 12+, is described as a both a coming-of-age and a ghost story, about a boy called Robbie. The publisher acquired world rights in all languages from the author and will publish in March 2017.
Head of Zeus announced it was creating a children’s list in earlier this year. The list will be managed by Fiona Kennedy, the former m.d. of Orion Children’s, who will join the company in February.
Kennedy said: “Robbie's story is haunting, moving and, like all the best story-telling, memorable. It's about finding hope in the face of overwhelming grief - stylishly delivered in a mix of tense thriller, magical legend and real life.”
The White Hare is Fishwick’s first children’s book. He has also written two adult books, Sacrifices and Smashing People (Cape), and is a director at Bloomsbury.
