Head of Zeus has teamed up with Mariella Frostrup and the Erotic Review to publish Desire: 100 of Literature’s Sexiest Stories.
The anthology will include tales of “strict mistresses and naughty maids”, “handsome gardeners and disarming strangers” selected by Frostrup and the Erotic Review. The book will feature stories from Marquis de Sade, D.H. Lawrence, Henry Miller and Vladimir Nabokov as well as modern writers, each of whom “prove that when it comes to the bedroom, a little fiction goes a long way.”
Head of Zeus has published six previous anthologies including The Story selected by Victoria Hislop and That Glimpse of Truth, edited by David Miller.
Amanda Ridout, c.e.o. of Head of Zeus, said: “We are delighted to be adding Desire to our series of highly successful Head of Zeus anthologies and are thrilled to be working with Mariella and the Erotic Review to publish this important yet mischievous collection this autumn. We hope it will find its way into many Christmas stockings.”
Frostrup said: “The range of human desire has been brilliantly captured in prose, so what better job than to sift through centuries of erotica and come up with the sexiest, funniest, strangest and downright naughtiest stories around. I didn’t have to be asked twice.”
Lisa Moylett, publisher of the Erotic Review, said: “We’re all delighted to be working with both Mariella and Head of Zeus on this anthology; it seems particularly appropriate that its publication coincides with the Erotic Review’s 21st birthday.”
Desire: 100 of Literature’s Sexiest Stories will be published on 6th October 2016 priced at £25.
