Head of Zeus is to publish the "biggest, most comprehensive" collection of writing about Nepal in print a year after the earthquake that devastated the country.
With a foreword by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, House of Snow: An Anthology of the Greatest Writing about Nepal was compiled by Ellen Parnavelas, editor at Head of Zeus. The book will include over 50 excepts of fiction and non-fiction from explorers and mountaineers, poets and political journalists, national treasures and international stars such as Michael Palin, Ed Douglas, Jon Krakauer, Laxmi Prasad Devkota and Manjushree Thapa – all hand picked by authors and scholars of Nepali literature including Samrat Upadhyay, Michael Hutt, Isabella Tree and Thomas Bell.
Head of Zeus is to donate all the profits from the sales of House of Snow to the Pahar Trust, a UK-based charity who build schools and trains teachers all over Nepal, and are rebuilding schools in a number of areas affected by the 2015 earthquake, which killed over 8,000 people and injured more than 21,000. The earthquake occurred on 25th April 2015. Head of Zeus are hoping to raise enough money to rebuild an entire school, which was destroyed last year.
House of Snow will be published in August.
