HQ, and imprint of HarperCollins, will publish the first adult non-fiction book by space journalist and TV presenter Sarah Cruddas.
Kate Fox, editorial director at HQ, acquired world rights to Look Up from Lauren Gardner at Bell Lomax Moreton. Look Up will be publish on 17th September 2020 in hardback, ebook and audiobook.
The book will be an "inspirational and enlightening" introduction to the significance of space. Cruddas will explore why space matters and what the future of space technology might look like.
Cruddas has previously published three children's books. She is the director of Space for Humanity, a US non-profit organisation that aims to democratise access to space, as well as being a presenter on a number of TV programmes.
Cruddas said: "I hope that the stories of those who opened up this new frontier for us all, and the possibilities to come, can inspire many others to look up a little more. Perhaps most importantly during a difficult time in the world, I want this book acts as a source of hope for readers — that we are all in this together."
Fox added: "We tend to think of space as ‘up there’ and not relevant to us, but Sarah’s writing is a revelation. We should all be looking toward the stars and paying more attention to what space technology can teach us. Sarah will show us why."
