HQ has struck a deal for The DOSE Effect: Motivate. Connect. Energise. Destress by neuroscientist, mental health champion and social media star Tj Power.
Louise McKeever, publishing director at HQ, acquired world all-language rights from Bev James Management. HQ will publish The DOSE Effect on 28th August 2024, in hardback, e-book and audio. Dey Street, part of HarperCollins US, has already acquired rights and will publish in early 2025.
The HarperCollins imprint said: “The DOSE Effect is a four-step guide that will teach you simple everyday habits through practical step-by-step techniques and challenges. Neuroscientist Tj Power offers methods for overcoming low mood, depression, anxiety and stress that have become common in today’s world.
“The DOSE Effect is the solution to these problems and it will rewire your thinking so that you can achieve a happier, healthier and productive life.”
Tj Power is also a co-founder of Neurify, an interactive training company which aims to enhance the management of mental health. He has also implemented strategies within companies such as Coca-Cola and the National Health Service (NHS).
Power said: “This book is going to provide our society with the clearest solution to the mental health challenges we are experiencing in our modern world. It’s going to be fun to read, super interactive and most importantly it’s going to genuinely transform how people live their lives.”
McKeever said: ‘Tj Power’s aim is simple: he wants to make it possible for everyone to live and feel better. Tj takes something that would normally feel complicated and makes it achievable. We are all struggling to find balance, but these easy hacks for better mental health can be incorporated into your daily life quickly.”
James said: “We are delighted to be working with Tj Power on a transformative journey towards better mental health with The DOSE Effect. Designed to resonate with readers from all walks of life, including those less inclined to pick up a book, this is an essential guide for nurturing wellbeing on a universal scale.”
