HQ Digital acquires three books from Liz Mistry 

HQ Digital has signed three books from Liz Mistry in a brand-new Scottish crime series.

Editor Audrey Linton acquired World English Language rights from Lorella Belli at Lorella Belli Literary Agency Ltd. The first book, The Blood Promise, will publish in e-book, audiobook and paperback on 23rd May 2024, with books two and three in the series to follow in late 2024 and early 2025. 

The Blood Promise is set in West Lothian, Scotland, and follows detectives Jazzy Solanki and Annie McQueen as they are called in to a murder investigation, but the case becomes personal when the killer is linked to Jazzy’s stalker. The new duo must solve the case, before Jazzy becomes the next victim… 

Mistry said: “Setting my new police procedural series in West Lothian where I was born has been both exhilarating and nostalgic and I am delighted to celebrate the rich diversity of Scotland through my two lead detectives, Jasmine ‘Jazzy’ Solanki and Annie ’Queenie’ McQueen and their team. Creating The Blood Promise was a trial of emotional highs and lows, poignant memories, self-doubt, laughter and joy, but ultimately it has been the book I’ve enjoyed writing more than any of my others.
