HQ has landed an “empowering” mood boosting book by psychotherapist and former NHS clinical lead Owen O’Kane.
Lisa Milton, executive publisher, acquired world all language rights to How To Be Your Own Therapist: Boost Your Mood and Reduce Your Anxiety in 10 minutes a Day from Bev James at Bev James Limited. It will publish on 23rd June.
The blurb explains: “Modern life is a minefield of stress. Whether it’s juggling work, relationships or money, we often struggle to make time for ourselves and become stuck in a rut of bad habits and worries. Here, Owen O’Kane reveals how short, smart techniques can help to form a healthier perspective and let you ditch harmful thought patterns.”
O’Kane said: “Therapy isn’t cheap and there are often long waiting lists. This book empowers people with the secrets of how self-therapy can transform their lives. This is a book for everyone, especially in these tough times.”
Milton added: “With straightforward solutions and empoweringly simple techniques, teaching us the practical tools needed to function better, Owen’s book will help everyone feel better and live better. We all need therapy, this brilliant book makes that possible for us all.”
James commented: “We’ve come a long way in destigmatising mental health, but accessibility is still a major issue; Owen’s revolutionary and indispensable book cuts through the secrecy that shrouds therapy and we couldn’t be prouder to be partnering with HQ to spread the message: therapy is for everyone.”
