HQ has scooped two more "emotional and uplifting" novels from Anna Bell
Emily Kitchin, editorial director, and Melanie Hayes, editor, acquired world English rights from Hannah Ferguson at Hardman & Swainson and will publish the first book, Note to Self, in June 2022.
Note to Self follows Edie as she revisits the past after receiving emails from her 18-year-old self on her 35th birthday. It sets in motion a series of life choices Edie must now face, one of which leads her to someone she left behind all those years ago. But will Edie follow the advice of her teenage self or is it too late for her to get a second chance at life and love?
Bell said: "I'm absolutely over the moon to be working with Emily, Mel and the rest of the team at HQ again. Note to Self is a different direction for me, full of emotion and nostalgia, and I've loved how enthusiastic and supportive the team have been of it from the get-go. I can't wait for it to be in the hands of readers."
Kitchin added: "I’m delighted to be working with Anna on two new gorgeous novels that are so heartfelt, funny and uplifting. Note to Self combines a fantastic premise with warm, hugely relatable characters who readers are going to love. Everyone at HQ is very excited to continue our publishing journey with Anna."
Hayes said: "Anna delivers an emotionally layered and highly romantic novel in Note to Self which had my heart brimming with such joy and warmth at one moment, only for the next to be drying away tears of laughter and sadness. Now more than ever, I think we could learn a lesson or two from the note to self challenges a younger Edie has set her future self. Anna is a brilliant writer who creates these relatable and entertaining characters you can’t help but fall in love with. I’m thrilled to be working with Anna on her next two books with HQ and we can’t wait to share them with readers."
