HQ has scooped the "ultimate handbook on south Asian beauty" from the Telegraph’s beauty director Sonia Haria, entitled South Asian Beauty.
Louise McKeever, publishing director, acquired world all-language rights from Bev James at Bev James Management. The book will be published on 4th July 2024.
"I’ve followed Sonia’s journalistic career for many years and I am so proud to be working with her on this important and beautiful book," said James. "Sonia’s joy and passion for beauty and the long-established South Asian beauty traditions is palpable in her writing."
Pitched as a "book of celebration", South Asian Beauty covers "everything you could possible need to know about the beauty practices that are used by those with roots in South Asia". It also includes "gorgeously illustrated" advice on skincare, make-up and haircare.
Haria said: "To say I’m excited about this book launching is an understatement. I enjoyed every minute of researching and writing South Asian Beauty, a celebration of a topic I am so passionate about! I know so many others are, too, which is why it has been such a joy to bring this to life."
McKeever added: "This is a book that many have been waiting for, and we are so thrilled to be publishing Sonia, who is so welcoming and knowledgeable about the topic. An indispensable guide as well as a pure celebration of South Asian beauty, this is a book that can be turned to time and time again."
