HarperCollins has signed two more cookery books from BOSH! authors Henry Firth and Ian Theasby as HQ aims to further develop the vegan trend.
Lisa Milton, HQ executive publisher, brought world all language rights to two books from Bev James, talent manager at Bev James Media and Management Ltd. The first will be published in the UK in April 2019.
HQ will publish in the UK and commonwealth in April 2019 in hardback and e-book. HQ Australia will publish simultaneously with William Morrow to publish in North America in September.
The debut cookbook - from the Sheffield schoolfriends turned social media stars - became the UK’s bestselling vegan cookbook of all time according to HarperCollins. Published by HQ, it has sold 94,720 copies for £901,362 in the UK since April, according to Nielsen BookScan.
Firth and Theasby started the plant-based Facebook food channel BOSH! to inspire healthier cooking after seeing the popularity of food videos on Facebook. In 10 months, the pair gained more than 1 million fans and 300 million video views. Their active fan-base regularly post videos of home-cooked dishes with the hashtag #bosh.
The authors said of their second title: “With over 120 unmissable recipes that we’ve been testing to perfection, this book will show everyone, vegan or not, how incredible and imaginative plant-based food can be.”
James said: “The debut BOSH! cookbook broke records and took vegan mainstream, these next two books will take them further and deliver even more delicious meals to everyone’s plate.”
Milton said: ‘With the phenomenal success of BOSH! we cannot wait to share more delicious recipes. BOSH are making it easy for us all to bring vegan food into our lives whether that’s every day, one day a week or occasionally. This is the biggest trend in cookery books and one we intend to develop further.”
The second book by 120 plant-based recipes ranging from burgers, roasts and salads, “as well as some spectacular party food and even a meat-free Christmas to remember”.
