HQ is releasing a new collection of 12 backlist audiobooks by Adele Parks.
Publisher Kate Mills brought UK and Commonwealth rights, including Canada, to the audiobooks from Jonny Geller at Curtis Brown.
The first six of the audiobooks, which are revised and updated editions of the first six novels written by Parks, will be released this week. They will include, for the first time, an unabridged recording of her sixth-bestselling novel, Husbands.
Each audiobook will feature an exclusive introduction written and read by Parks, and narrators commissioned for the collection including actress Emily Barber and 2021 graduates from one of HQ’s audiobook partnerships, East 15 acting school, Joshua Dowd and Joshua Church.
Parks said: "Audio is an increasingly important part of publishing as so many of us are discovering the joy of this incredibly special aspect of storytelling, hearing voices come alive. I’ve so enjoyed working with such exciting, new talent. It was a lot of fun writing and recording the introductions."
Mills said: "We are thrilled to be publishing these new updated versions of Adele’s brilliant backlist. Adele is the consummate storyteller and we can’t wait for listeners to discover her earlier novels in their gorgeous new livery."
Released with new covers, the first six revised and updated audio editions, released this week, include Playing Away, Game Over, Larger Than Life, The Other Woman’s Shoes, Still Thinking of You and Husbands.
New audio editions of six more bestsellers will publish in 2022: The State We’re In; Love Lies; Tell Me Something; Young Wives’ Tales; Whatever It Takes; and About Last Night.
