Hurst Publishers has commissioned a history on Afro-Europeans from Professor Olivette Otele, the first black female professor of history in the UK.
To be published next year, the book covers the impact of Africans on European history and culture from the 16th to the 20th centuries. Hurst have World rights in the book, which was commissioned directly from the author.
M.d. and Publisher, Michael Dwyer, said: "Professor Otele's book will make a profound contribution to our understanding of both European and African history and contribute to public debates on the history of migration, race, identity and imperialism."
Afro-Europeans: A History will be published in June 2019.
