Ilex Press will publish a book to accompany the Landscape Photographer of the Year competition, to showcase the winning and commended entries in each of the competition’s sections.
Richard Collins, Ilex Press commissioner, photography, acquired world rights direct from the prize's organiser and creator, Charlie Waite. Landscape Photographer of the Year 14 will be published on 21st October 2021. The 13 previous Landscape Photographer of the Year titles were published by the AA.
Ilex Press said: "The book is a beautifully presented collection of images of the natural world from highly talented image-makers, both amateur and professional. Each image is captioned with the photographer's account of the inspiration behind the picture, coupled with the technical information on equipment and technique that shaped the photograph."
Collins said: "I am delighted to be publishing this wonderful book, which is a testament to the amazing skill and vision of the contest entrants, both amateur and professional. Now in its 14th year, the Landscape Photographer of the Year competition continues to go from strength to strength, with consistently strong sales of the contest’s accompanying books demonstrating the wide appeal of beautiful images of the British landscape. I am also very proud of the opportunity to work with the competition founder, Charlie Waite, who is an incredibly important figure in landscape photography. I am confident that this partnership between Ilex Press and the Landscape Photographer of the Year team will see this already very popular brand reach new heights of success."
Waite commented: "Through our ongoing partnership with Ilex, I look forward to introducing some of the greatest images of the British landscape to a wider audience. There is no doubt in my mind that I will see Landscape Photographer of the Year reaching a much wider audience now, which has always been my wish. The increased distribution and promotion of the Landscape Photographer of the Year award will ensure that, through some of the country’s finest landscape photography, many more people will be able to relish the wonderful and diverse nature of the British landscape. Photography has now become the people’s common language and I am so delighted to see Ilex embracing it so wholeheartedly."
