Ilex, part of the Octopus Publishing Group, is publishing a remastered anniversary edition of Michael Freeman's The Photographer’s Eye in June.
Ilex’s photo publisher, Adam Juniper, who worked on the original edition as its editor, directed the process of updating the book to reflect the latest advances in digital image reproduction and printing.
The book, about composition in photography, will feature a new foreword in addition to a refreshed design, cover and digitally remastered repro throughout, priced £19.99.
Juniper said: "We knew this book was going to be something special when the manuscript first came in, and seeing the sales numbers climb year after year based on word-of-mouth has been immensely gratifying. It’s so exciting to see it given the high-quality print treatment it has always deserved."
Freeman commented: "It amazed me that there’s so much to composing a photograph, so many interesting, surprising ways — and yet all most people seemed to think about was the simple-minded rule of thirds. I knew I had to do this book."
The Photographer’s Eye 10th Anniversary edition will be published in June, priced £19.99 in paperback.
