Faber will publish How To Write One Song by Jeff Tweedy of US rock band Wilco in October.
Dan Papps, deputy head of Faber Social, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada) from US publisher Dutton, an imprint of PRH. Faber will publish the title in e-book on 13th October 2020 — to coincide with the US publication — followed by a hardback edition on 3rd December 2020.
Two years after the publication of his autobiography Let's Go (So We Can Get Back) by Faber in 2018, Tweedy's new book will offer his perspective on songwriting, as well as offering readers some practical tips on songwriting and creativity.
The synopsis says: "Why one song? The difference between one song and many songs isn’t a charming semantic trick – it’s an important distinction that can simplify a notoriously confusing art form. The idea of becoming a capital-S Songwriter can seem daunting, but when approached as a focused, self-contained practice, the mystery and fear subsides and songwriting becomes an exciting pursuit."
Tweedy is singer and guitarist with the Grammy Award-winning band Wilco.
