Joffe Books has swiped a five-book deal from previously self-published author Alesha Dykema.
Publishing director Kate Lyall Grant acquired world rights directly from the author. If She’s Found, the first book in the deal, will be published in early spring 2025.
The deal includes three previously self-published titles and two new psychological thrillers.
Billed as a "ingeniously-twisted" thriller, If She’s Found features Andi Miller whose perfect life comes crashing down when her eight-year-old daughter disappears from her bedroom in the night.
The synopsis continues: "At least, that’s the story Andi is telling the police. The truth would surely send her to prison. The detective working Bella’s case is increasingly suspicious of Andi and her tragic past. Is she a distressed mother... or a cold-hearted monster?"
Lyall Grant said: "With her darkly imaginative plots, complex female protagonists and killer twists, Alesha’s tense and twisting psychological thrillers pulled me in from the outset and held me in their thrall to the last page. Alesha is a real find, and I couldn’t be happier that she is joining Joffe Books."
Dykema added: "I am so excited to be part of the Joffe Books family. I can’t wait to get my books into the hands of new readers."
