Joffe Books (JB) has signed a five-book deal with previously self published author D L Fisher, while three "spicy" romances from Juliana Stone went to JB-owned publisher Choc Lit.
Senior commissioning editor Siân Heap acquired world rights for Fisher’s five books directly from the author. The deal includes three originally self-published books and two new psychological thrillers. The Perfect Nanny, the first book in the deal, will be published in e-book and paperback in January 2025.
Pitched as a "gripping" psychological thriller, The Perfect Nanny follows Lucinda, a new mother who hires a new nanny, Bree. But Bree seems a bit too good to be true.
Heap said: “I was instantly gripped by D L Fisher’s brilliant characters and engaging voice. She knows exactly how to keep readers on their toes with twist after twist.”
Fisher added: “Teaming up with Joffe Books is a literal dream come true. Believe me when I say, the best is yet to come!”
Becky Slorach, head of Choc Lit, acquired world rights for Stone’s Fire Lake contemporary romance series directly from the author. The first book will be published in spring 2025.
Set in the small US town of Fire Lake, the first book in the trilogy is billed as a "second-chance" romance following August Boone, who returns to the town after years away and meets his new neighbour, Faith Brooks.
Slorach commented: "I have loved Juliana’s romances for many years. She is a fantastic author who writes passionate, complex characters that are the perfect blend of intense and romantic—with sizzling chemistry and lots of spice! I am thrilled to welcome her to Choc Lit and can’t wait to introduce the gorgeous Boone brothers to readers in 2025."
Stone added: "I’m so thrilled to be working with the talented Becky Slorach to bring a new contemporary romance series to life for Choc Lit."
