Joffe Books has signed several psychological thrillers and police procedurals from three debut novelists in a spate of acquisitions.
Editorial director Emma Grundy Haigh acquired world rights including audio, film and TV for the first three books in the DCI Bec Pope series by Jez Pinfold, from Bill Goodall at Bill Goodall Literary Agency.
Grundy Haigh also secured world rights for three books in a debut crime thriller series set in Edinburgh and starring DCI Lola Harris by Daniel Sellers, doing the deal directly with the author.
In addition, she obtained three "resonating" psychological thrillers by debut novelist Sally-Anne Bedford, from Katie Fulford at Bell Lomax Moreton.
Grundy Haigh said: "I couldn’t be more excited to be taking on these three fantastic authors. Completely unique in style and approach, they share an incredible talent for weaving character-driven stories that will keep readers turning the pages and eager for more. I can’t wait to introduce their wonderful books to an army of hungry new readers."
Sellers said: "It’s been my lifetime ambition to publish crime fiction and I am over the moon to have signed with Joffe Books. I can’t wait to start working with Emma Grundy Haigh and the team. I’ve been so impressed with Joffe’s energy and drive in marketing their authors. Joffe publish a number of my favourite writers already, and I am deeply honoured to be in such stellar company."
"I am so excited to join the Joffe Books family," said Bedford. "Their innovative, ’art of the possible’ attitude towards publishing and telling stories is truly exciting and inspiring. I was already a reader of their books and so to be one of their authors now is a dream come true. I am so excited to start working with them and introducing my chilling thrillers into the world."
All of the new titles are slated for publication in autumn and winter 2022.
