Joffe Books has signed a three-book deal for a historical saga with Merryn Allingham and three "dark, dangerous and twisty" thrillers from screenwriter and theatre director Darren O’Sullivan.
Commissioning editor Stephanie Carey acquired world English rights to Allingham’s books directly from the author and world English rights to O’Sullivan’s books from Lisa Moylett at CMM. Allingham’s books will be published in e-book and paperback in 2024.
Carey commented: "I am so excited to be working with the utterly brilliant Merryn Allingham. Her wartime trilogy is a masterful depiction of one woman’s trials and tribulations in a world in which she has to fight for everything she deserves ... It is an absolute honour to be working with such a fantastic storyteller as Darren — his three brand-new thrillers range from the psychological to the domestic to the conceptual, but all have family at the heart. He writes about the very worst things that can happen to a person, but they are all, ultimately, tales of hope and survival. I can’t wait to get these brilliant books into the hands of our readers!"
Allingham commented: "What an absolute pleasure to have signed with such a brilliant publisher and be working with Steph Carey and the talented team at Joffe Books."
O’Sullivan added: "I have followed Joffe for a long time, and have always been impressed with the attention, focus and dedication given to each title they publish. So I am delighted to be joining the Joffe family and working with Steph who is just as diabolical and dedicated as me when it comes to plotting stories. I feel incredibly lucky to be with the team, and looking forward to the evolution in my storytelling, growth in my writing, and finding new readers under such wonderful guidance."
