Joffe Books has acquired two new crime thrillers by former police detective turned author Charlie Gallagher.
Publisher Jasper Joffe acquired world English rights via agent Hannah Todd at Madeleine Milburn. The two books, as yet untitled, are due for release in late 2022 and early 2023. They follow police detective Maddie Ives and will be the seventh and eighth books in the series.
Gallagher was a serving UK police officer for 13 years. During that time he worked as a front-line response officer, specialised as a member of a specialist tactical team and became a detective investigating serious offences. He left the service to concentrate on writing full time.
“Charlie is a fantastic author and these two new books by him raise the stakes even higher in his adrenaline-packed Maddie Ives series," Joffe said. “His experience as a police detective on the front line gives them an edge and his brilliant imagination is boundless. We’ve sold over half a million of his books, and I look forward to reaching the million mark soon.”
Gallagher said he was "delighted to be back working with Joffe Books in continuation of the Maddie Ives series". He added: "I love that readers have been asking for this series to continue and I think it was a very easy decision for us all to make it happen.
“I am so thrilled to reconnect Charlie with Joffe Books who have done so impressively with his titles in the past. I know that we all can’t wait for another instalment from Maddie Ives," Todd commented.
