Jonathan Cape has snapped up Tim Spector’s latest book, created in collaboration with his personal nutrition company ZOE, which shows “just how easy, enjoyable and affordable it can be to adapt to a gut-friendly way of eating”.
Spector is professor of epidemiology at King’s College London. Jenny Dean acquired world all-language rights for The Food for Life Cookbook: 100+ Recipes Created with ZOE from Sophie Lambert (C&W). It will publish in October.
Chapters include 15-minute meals, ideas for eating well when the fridge looks bare, and generous feasts and sweet treats for special moments with friends.
“Packed with inspiration for delicious meals to feed you, your family and your microbiome, as well as tips for increasing plant diversity and science-based explanations for the nutritional benefits of the ingredients and recipes included, The Food for Life Cookbook is a must-have for every gut-loving home and kitchen”, the publisher said.
Spector said: “Food for me is the perfect combination of science and pleasure. The Food for Life Cookbook was inspired by ZOE’s popular recipes and combined with practical tips informed by the latest science, making eating for good health easier for everybody. This cookbook is the perfect companion to start you on your health journey.”
Dean added that 2024 was “the year of gut health, with Tim Spector continuing to lead the way. It’s hugely exciting to see his groundbreaking thinking on gut health break through to the mainstream. Readers, listeners and ZOE members are clamouring for a cookbook that shows them how to put his principles and guidance into practice, so we’re delighted and proud to be working with Tim and the team at ZOE to create The Food for Life Cookbook. Its delicious, achievable recipes make adapting to a gut-friendly lifestyle a genuine and tasty pleasure.”
Spector has sold 277,500 copies of his books for £3.2m via Nielsen BookScan’s Total Consumer Market.
