Journalist Barr’s début novel to Bloomsbury

Bloomsbury has acquired a début novel by journalist Damian Barr, entitled You Will Be Safe Here, to be published in spring 2018.

Alexandra Pringle, group editor-in-chief, acquired world English rights from Clare Conville at Conville & Walsh in a pre-emptive bid.

The book consists of two connected parts set in South Africa and is inspired by real events. it reveals a “hidden colonial history and casts light on present day darkness”.
