Kyle Books has bagged The Imperfect Nutritionist, a "positive, inclusive food message" from Jennifer Medhurst.
Publishing director Judith Hannam acquired world rights from Adrian Sington at Kruger Cowne. It will be published in February 2023.
Medhurst is a registered nutritionist with a private clinic based in London. Her career in food began when she consulted a nutritionist to help her with health issues that developed during her studies. When her symptoms eased as a result she eventually set up a health food catering business and a food blog to share her recipes.
“After years of seeing people struggle with the same issues over and over again in my nutrition clinic, I couldn’t be happier to have written this complete guide to improving health and wellbeing, including boosting energy levels, gut heath, immunity and sleep quality," said Medhurst. "My approach focuses on adding more to people’s lives, rather than restricting or excluding certain food groups, showing you how easy it is to feel better while eating the foods you enjoy. The evidence-based information in my book is the key to supporting good health and wellbeing in a sustainable, long-term way, and has the potential to make huge and lasting positive change.”
The Imperfect Nutritionist builds on Medhurst’s "food first" approach and offers diets to address readers’ specific bodily "complexities and uniqueness". Medhurst explains seven general principles which underpin a healthy diet and also offers a two-week plan alongside 70 "delicious, nutritious recipes created to deliver as much joy as they do nourishment".
Hannam commented: “I’m delighted to be publishing Jennifer Medhurst’s book. Most of us struggle to eat healthily and in The Imperfect Nutritionist she delivers a positive, inclusive food message that’s in stark contrast to the negative one of dietary restriction and banned ingredients more commonly offered. As a result, it’s one that we can all stick to.”
