Kyle Books has signed Eat to Your Heart’s Content, a cookbook from chef Sat Bains, owner of the double Michelin star restaurant, Restaurant Sat Bains.
Publishing director Judith Hannam acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Borra Garson at DML Talent. The book will be published in hardback on 18th January 2024.
Bains was inspired to write Eat to Your Heart’s Content following a heart attack and emergency triple heart bypass operation in 2021. After consulting a nutritionist, who offered a revised diet to maintain heart health, Bains developed recipes which don’t compromise in flavour. These make up the contents of his new book.
The recipes use "supermarket-friendly ingredients" and are accompanied with nutritional advice highlighting the ingredients which are "rich in heart-healthy vitamins and minerals".
Hannam commented: "Sat’s an acclaimed chef, so the recipes in Eat to Your Heart’s Content couldn’t be anything other than packed with his trademark flavour. He was very clear from the start, though, that he was only interested in writing a cookbook that could be used by every one of the 7.6 million people in the UK with heart or circulatory disease. And it couldn’t be preachy or worthy or it would end up gathering dust on a shelf. The result is fabulous food that happens to be heart-healthy."
Bains added: "I chose to write about my experience of what happened to me in a cookbook. I wanted to share my journey to better heart health with everyone, and also what I have learned over the last two years. To make seriously delicious food is my profession, but I also wanted my cookbook to be as accessible as possible for the reader. I hope everyone enjoys the dishes as much as I enjoyed creating them."
