Bold Beans, an "enticing, exciting recipes for vegans, vegetarians and meat lovers" from Amelia Christie-Miller, has been snapped up by Kyle Books.
Publishing director Judith Hannam acquired world rights from Emily Sweet at Emily Sweet Associates. The book will be published in July 2023.
Bold Bean Co was established by Christie-Miller in 2021 after a "bean epiphany" in Spain and decided that the UK "both needed and deserved to have a better understanding of beans and how brilliant they can be".
Christie-Miller commented: "Our mission is to make you obsessed with beans, by giving you the best of beans. Demonstrating just how versatile beans can be in the kitchen is a fundamental part of that journey. Long before we had our beautiful jarred beans, we had an Instagram account sharing bean recipes from a community of like‐minded bean‐lovers. The talents that shape our food culture back beans and their collaboration for this book shows a real turning point in our food culture."
With contributions from Anna Jones, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and the team at Mob, Bold Beans includes recipes such as speedy beans, bean bowls, broths, snacks, salads and butter bean puttanesca and crispy herb-stuffed chicken with truffle beans.
Hannam commented: "Amelia Christie‐Miller and the company she founded, Bold Beans, have blazed a trail proclaiming the brilliance of beans. In the past, beans had the reputation of being dreary hippy fodder, but they’ve had a radical image makeover and this cookbook is packed with delicious, vibrant, exciting and modern recipes that you can feel good about eating, knowing that they are better for the planet as well as your purse."
