Kyle Books is to publish Dame Kelly Holmes’ first motivational book next spring.
Running Life: Achieving Emotional and Physical Wellbeing will be an inspirational guide to using mindfulness, exercise and diet to transform the reader's overall health and fitness.
Holmes said: "I love connecting with people and am excited to be writing a book that will show how everyone can “flick their switch” and reach their full potential, whatever their age or level of fitness."
World rights were bought by Judith Hannam from Adrian Sington at Kruger Cowne. Kyle Books will publish in hardback in April 2018, to coincide with the London Marathon.
Hannam said: "We are thrilled to be publishing such an iconic athlete. Kelly Holmes is someone who achieved stunning success on the track, but she had to overcome both physical and mental struggles to do so, including battling with depression."
Holmes is a double Olympic champion, winning gold at 800m and 1500m in Athens in 2004, the same year that saw her named BBC Sports Personality of the Year. She retired from athletics in 2005, having won 12 major championship medals, and set up the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, a charity that helps develop young people facing disadvantage into world-class athletes.
