Kyle Books scoops Bake Off winner Rahul Mandal’s Showstopping Cakes

Kyle Books has secured Showstopping Cakes: Mastering the Art and Science of Baking by “Bake Off” winner Rahul Mandal.  

Judith Hannam, publishing director, acquired world rights from Anna Bruce at Yellow Poppy Media. It will be published in October 2022.  

Showstopping Cakes is a collection of “dazzling” and delicious bakes to show anyone how to create their own sensational, showstopping cakes. From advice on stacking a tier cake, piping decorations and finding the perfect flavour pairing, Mandel shares his scientific insight to achieving “sublime bakes”. 

Since winning “The Great British Bake Off” 2018, Mandel has been combining his scientific know-how as a research scientist at the University of Sheffield with his baking skill to create bakes that are both delicious and beautiful. “This is the handbook that Rahul wishes he’d had when he started baking and one he hopes all aspiring bakers will turn to when they want to create a cake for a special occasion,” the publisher said.
