Kyle Books, part of the Octopus Publishing Group, has acquired German Baking: Cakes, Tarts, Traybakes and Breads from the Black Forest and Beyond by Jürgen Krauss, star of the 2021 season of “The Great British Bake Off”.
Publishing director Judith Hannam acquired world rights from Katherine Stonehouse at Katherine Stonehouse Management for publication in August 2023 at £26.
The publisher says: “Jürgen’s gentle charm, as well as his ambitious flavours and scientific know‐how, captured audiences’ hearts on ‘The Great British Bake Off’ and this, his first book, is a must‐have for Jürgenators everywhere. Drawing on the flavours and techniques of his childhood home in the Black Forest, the authoritative, fool‐proof recipes provide delicious inspiration for any time of day and any occasion.
“From sweet and savoury classics such as Flammkuchen, cinnamon raisin braid, Streusel, marble cake, Bundt and Sacher Torte, to festive bakes such as Lebkuchen, Christmas biscuits, Stollen and Easter braid, the book is the perfect way to celebrate German baking at home.”
