Toni Terry, the wife of footballer John Terry, has signed a deal for her debut fitness book, The Buddy Workout, publishing on 28th December 2017.
King’s Road Publishing's new food and wellness imprint, Lagom, will publish the title, which will focus on "people" being the key to fitness and eating well. Terry found she was more motivated, healthier and happier when she started working out with friends and family - getting the body she always wanted in the process.
In her first book, which has been put together with the help of her personal trainer Bradley Simmonds for all levels of fitness, she will share the "easy-to-follow" exercise programme that works for her, with ideas for five-minute workouts to build into a busy life, tips for keeping motivated and "looking your best", as well as "delicious and nutritious" recipes to share with family and friends.
Since Terry's diagnosis and recovery from scoliosis as a teenager, she has always tried to stay fit and healthy. She said: "Keeping active and healthy has always been a big thing for me. It’s been a constant throughout my life and kept me focused, balanced and the happy. I’m so passionate about keeping fit and eating well – I feel stronger, more confident and just happier, and who doesn’t want that in their life.”
Lagom has worldwide rights. Publisher Natalie Jerome said: “With her rapidly growing following on Instagram, genuine passion for health and fitness and warm, likeable personality we're delighted to be publishing Toni's first ever book. She's a joy to work with and perfectly placed to showcase how easy it is make keeping fit and healthy a permanent lifestyle choice - no fancy equipment, no costly gym membership, just grab your mates, your Mum or even your dog and go!"
The New Year launch will be supported by a full sales, PR and marketing campaign across traditional and social media.
The Lagom imprint launched earlier this month to complement Blink Publishing and John Blake adult non-fiction lists. Other books it will be publishing in December include 15 Minutes to Happiness by psychotherapist Richard Nicholls, creator of self-help podcast "Motivate Yourself" and, in April 2018, the memoir of 16-year-old disability campaigner and social media star Lewis Hine.
