Lake Union Publishing, an imprint of Amazon Publishing, has signed a new two-book deal with Imogen Clark.
World English rights were acquired from the Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency for The Inheritance and a second, as-yet-untitled book, both scheduled for publication in 2023.
The Inheritance will tell the story of a family on the edge. The synopsis reads: "After the death of her father-in-law, Tony, Caroline begins clearing his house, only to discover a suitcase full of £20 notes. Everyone disagrees on what to do next, old tensions come to light, and Tony’s legacy ultimately threatens to tear his family apart."
Victoria Pepe, editor, said: "The Amazon Publishing team is so pleased to have signed two more books with Imogen, whose stories always delight her readers—and us. We’re very excited to continue growing her readership in the coming years with the engrossing, emotionally complex family dramas that make Imogen such an asset to the Lake Union list."
Clark said: "I am thrilled to have signed this new contract with Lake Union, the third in less than three years. The team at Amazon Publishing and particularly my editor Victoria Pepe are a joy to work with. I’m very excited to be bringing my new stories to life with them."
Lake Union has published several of Clark's novels including Where the Story Starts (2019) and The Last Piece (2020).
