Legend Times signs poetry collections through Central Avenue

Indie publishing group Legend Times has acquired rights to three US poetry collections through a partnership with Canada’s Central Avenue Publishing.

M.d. Tom Chalmers signed world English rights, excluding the US and Canada from publisher Michelle Halket at Central Avenue.

New Legend Times imprint Hero will publish 2am Thoughts by Makenzie Campbell in February 2020, followed with Honeybee by Trista Mateer in May and anthology (Dis)connected Volume 2 in July.

Halket said: “I have long been dedicated to innovation and publishing new and exciting voices in poetry and fiction, and it was in meeting Tom Chalmers and learning more about Legend Times that I found a like entrepreneur who shared this same drive. I am honoured to be working with Tom and his fantastic team on bringing new titles to poetry fans around the world.”

Chalmers added: “I met Michelle at the conference of our mutual US sales partner, IPG, last year and was immediately struck by what she had achieved with Central Avenue Publishing and our shared passion for independent publishing and providing a platform for the best writing talent.

“I am therefore delighted to enter into this partnership and to be launching new editions of these fantastic poetry collections in the UK and through our international partners. We look forward to introducing them to even more readers next year and onwards.”
