Former "Emmerdale" and "Strictly Come Dancing" star Lisa Riley is publishing a new diet book with Michael Joseph, detailing how she lost 12 stone.
Ione Walder, cookery commissioning editor, bought world rights from Shirley Patton, head of publishing at ITV Studios Global Entertainment in association with Phil Dale at QTalent.
Lisa Riley’s Honesty Diet will be published on 28th December 2017 at £16.99 as a trade paperback. The book will share Riley's experiences of struggling with her health and weight-loss, after a family health scare gave her "a serious wake-up call", shrinking her body from a size 30 to a size 12
The book will offer advice, encouragement and simple strategies, including an interactive "honesty diary" section. In it, Riley will also share tips for getting active, easy exercise routines and 75 of her favourite recipes for fast, low-carb meals, breakfasts and "guilt-free" desserts.
Riley said: "‘When it comes to weight loss, I've been there, done that and bought every XXXL T-shirt. No one ever said losing weight was easy, but I’m here to prove that if you tell the truth, anything is possible. No more of those teeny-weeny lies and excuses – it’s time to be 100% honest. One small step at a time can add up to big changes. If I can do it, anyone can."
Walder said: "The word “inspirational” gets bandied about a lot, but when you consider the Lisa of several years ago and Lisa now – having lost more weight than many people’s entire body mass, and almost certainly extending her life – you are looking at a true role model. We’re so excited to be working with Lisa to help share her story and advice. She’s living proof that anyone can make a change."
