Little, Brown is publishing Hamilton: The Revolution by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter.
David Bamford and Richard Beswick at Little, Brown signed UK and Commonwealth rights through Simon Trewin at WME.
Hamilton: The Revolution is an illustrated companion to the smash Broadway musical, Hamilton, which recently won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and won eleven Tony Awards and was described by Michelle Obama as "the best piece of art in any form that I have ever seen".
The musical tells the story of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton through rap, hip hop, pop, R&B and the best traditions of theatre, and will re-open the Victoria Palace Theatre in London in October 2017.
The book, which traces the revolutionary story behind the show's creation, has already topped the New York Times Bestseller list in the US. It includes over 200 "funny" and "revealing" footnotes from Miranda on his award-winning libretto alongside the full text. It also features photos by Frank Ockenfels and veteran Broadway photographer Joan Marcus, exclusive looks at notebooks and emails, interviews with Questlove, Stephen Sondheim, leading political commentators and more than forty people involved with the production, and multiple appearances by President Obama.
Hamilton: The Revolution publishes this October.
