Little, Brown to publish new stories from Sedaris

Richard Beswick, publishing director at Little, Brown, has bought Happy-Go-Lucky, the new story collection from humorist David Sedaris. Beswick acquired rights from Anna Carmichael at Abner Stein.

The stories will be published in June 2022, and a UK tour will follow in July.  

Sedaris’ earlier story collection, Calypso, published in 2019, sold 16,110 in hardback and 35,902 in paperback via Nielsen BookScan’s UK TCM. His most recent publication—A Carnival of Snackery (Little, Brown), the second compilation of his diaries—was published in 2021.

A recent Andrew Sean Greer review recommending Sedaris in the New York Times noted: "It will be a new experience, knowing that enough time has passed to find humour in the hardest parts of life. More than ever—we’re allowed to laugh."
