Little Tiger unveils new fiction titles from Malik and Williamson
Little Tiger Group has unveiled a string of new colour fiction titles, with authors including Ayisha Malik and Lara Williamson writing books for the range.
The range of B-format, full-colour illustrated original fiction, from Little Tiger imprint Stripes Publishing, is aimed at newly independent readers.
New titles for 2020 feature a star line up of authors and illustrators include Midge and Mo by Williamson and illustrated by Becky Cameron, and The Hat Full of Secrets, written by Karl Newson and illustrated by Wazza Pink. 2021 will see Mike Falls Up by Candy Gourlay and illustrated by Carles Ballesteros; Seven Sisters by Malik and illustrated by Erika Meza, and The Bear Stylist written by Steven Butler and illustrated by Jake Souva.
The books, intended to bridge the gap between picture books and more sparsely illustrated black-and-white fiction, are 96 pages long, average around three thousand words and feature colour illustrations on each spread.
The range first published in 2018 with launch titles Two Sides by Polly Ho-Yen and Binny Talib, Little Rabbit’s Big Surprise by Swapna Haddow and Alison Friend, and The Climbers by Ali Standish and Alette Straathof. The Missing Bookshop by Katie Clapham and illustrated by Kirsti Beautyman was published to celebrate Independent Book Shop Week. "Fantastic support from trade and gift retailers meant that the first four titles had to be reprinted pre-publication, and over 20,000 copies have sold in the UK to date," said Little Tiger.
