Claire McGowan’s true crime investigation, The Vanishing Triangle, has been acquired by Little A, the literary imprint of Amazon Publishing.
Little A acquired world English language rights from Diana Beaumont at Marjacq. The Vanishing Triangle: The Murdered Women Ireland Forgot will be published on 1st May 2022.
McGowan’s non-fiction work delivers an investigation into eight women who went missing around Dublin between 1993 and 1998, whose fates were never uncovered. McGowan questions the circumstances in Ireland which let these disappearances happen and exposes a system that fails women.
“Having worked with Claire on crime fiction, I already knew she was a fantastic and gripping storyteller and I was so excited for Claire to turn her hand to non-fiction," said Victoria Haslam, editor at Little A. "The Vanishing Triangle is one of the most outstanding true crime investigations I have encountered. It is an ethical and compassionate investigation that centres these murdered and missing women at the heart of the story. Claire asks not just who committed these atrocities, but why they happened and were allowed to continue happening.”
“This is such an important book about these women who were murdered, and largely forgotten,” said Beaumont. “Claire, who is not only a bestselling crime writer but also grew up in the shadows of these atrocities, is perfectly placed to tell it. We really appreciate the passion and commitment shown by Victoria and the team at Little A in publishing this.”
McGowan commented: “I’m really pleased the book will now reach a wider audience and hope that this will help keep these cases in the public eye.”
