Penguin Life has scooped Give Me Strength: How to Feel Happy and Healthy from the Inside Out from influencer and personal trainer Alice Liveing.
Commissioning editor Amy McWalters acquired world rights from Issy Lloyd at The Insanity Group. It will be published in January 2024.
Liveing has previously written three books with HarperCollins — Clean Eating Alice: Eat Well Every Day, Clean Eating Alice: Everyday Fitness and Clean Eating Alice: The Body Bible. Now in Give Me Strength Liveing presents her fitness manifesto and how she overcame her body-image "demons to find a truly balanced approach to fitness, and how readers can do the same". The publisher called it a "personal, insightful and inspiring read" which will give advice on how to feel happy and confident in your body.
McWalters said: "I am beyond excited about this as I think Alice is a breath of fresh air in the fitness industry and her book will be essential reading for anyone who struggles with their relationship with their body, and who hasn’t? Alice is such a positive and empowering role model and her mission to refocus fitness on how it makes us feel rather than how we look is more important than ever, so I can’t wait for this book to have a positive impact on people’s lives."
Liveing commented: "I am thrilled to be working with the team at Penguin on this new book. I know that this will be a completely different offering to my previous books and will be something that I hope any women of any age can pick up and be able to relate to. It’s been incredibly cathartic to begin the writing process and I can’t wait to share the finished book."
