Lucy Score’s hit TikTok romance Things We Never Got Over scooped by Hodder
Hodder & Stoughton has signed Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score which has become a TikTok sensation since originally being released via That’s What She Said Publishing in January 2022.
On TikTok, the hashtag #ThingsWeNeverGotOver has garnered 10.9 million views and #LucyScore has amassed 11.8 million since the book was published.
Publisher Kimberley Atkins bought UK and British Commonwealth rights in print and e-book at auction in a deal struck by Flavia Viotti at The Bookcase Agency. It will be published in e-book on 23rd June and in paperback on 14th July.
Print distribution rights have also been pre-empted in the US by Christa Désir, senior editor at Sourcebooks, while translation rights have also sold in Italy, Spain (with Latin America distribution), Brazil, Netherlands, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, Portugal, Croatia, Romania, and Turkey, with an auction under way in Poland.
Score is the author of more than 30 contemporary romance novels. Things We Never Got Over is set in a fictional small town in northern Virginia and follows the story of optimistic and hopeful newcomer Naomi who immediately clashes with the town’s local bad-boy barber, Knox.
