"Made in Chelsea" star Lucy Watson’s first cookbook, Feed Me Vegan, is to be published by Sphere in September.
Commissioning editor Rhiannon Smith, working alongside editorial director Hannah Boursnell, did the deal with Ariella Feiner at United Agents.
The book is packed with "comforting, easy-to-make and totally delicious" recipes that show, according to Sphere, "you can be vegan and still have your cake (and mac and cheese, and lasagne, and pancakes) and eat it".
Designed for anyone who is already a full-time vegan, considering making the switch or just trying to cut down on meats, fish and dairy, the book's 85 recipes range from breakfast to supper, as well sweet treats and snacks for in between.
Smith said of Watson, who became vegan in 2015, after spending most of her life as a vegetarian, she was "so enthusiastic about sharing her passion for veganism" and was able to show vegan food is a pleasure, not a restriction, in her new book.
The author, a star on E4 reality TV show "Made in Chelsea" for four years, first published The Dating Game with Quadrille Publishing in 2014, a book in which she shared her experiences of serial cheaters, public betrayals and scandals.
Also in the wellness space, former Made in Chelsea cast member Millie Mackintosh published Made, A Book of Lifestyle, Fitness and Food with Ebury in 2015. Other stars of the show to have published a book include Mark-Francis Vandelli, Spencer Matthews, Jamie Laing, Binky Felstead, Ollie Locke and Francis Boulle.
Watson said: "I’ve been working on this book for months and I’m so excited to finally be able to talk about it with everyone! The recipes are truly delicious and I’m sure it will disassociate the 'healthy salad' stigma that comes with following a vegan diet. I wanted to give you all the vegan alternatives to your favourite meals to make veganism seem much more inviting."
Watson is a PETA ambassador and RSPCA campaigner, and has launched her own cruelty-free make-up range, Basic Bitch.
