Sarah J Maas' A Court of Thorns And Roses series has been optioned by Hulu and is in development for a TV show.
Rights were acquired from Jill Gillett at WME on behalf of Robin Rue and Cecilia de la Campa at Writers House. Maas and American screenwriter Ronald D Moore will adapt the pilot and executive-produce the series through Disney TV Studios.
The fantasy series is published by Bloomsbury and currently consists of five novels: A Court of Thorns and Roses (2015); A Court of Mist and Fury (2016); A Court of Wings and Ruin (2017); A Court of Frost and Starlight (2018) and, most recently, A Court of Silver Flames (2021).
The series is described as a fantasy retelling of "Beauty and the Beast", and is aimed at adults and older YA readers. According to the publisher, Maas has sold more than 13 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 37 languages.
