American author Debbie Macomber, previously published by Cornerstone, has signed a four-book deal with Sphere.
Cath Burke, deputy managing director of Little, Brown and Sphere executive publisher, acquired four new novels from Macomber, a New York Times-bestselling writer, from Denise Cronin at Penguin Random House.
The first in the deal is Jingle All the Way, which will be published in hardback, audio and e-book in autumn 2020, and in paperback for Christmas 2021.
Burke said: "It is a joy to bring Debbie’s publishing to Sphere and to all the team here at Little, Brown. I love Debbie’s books and it was an honour to publish Debbie at Harlequin many years ago, and it is a gift to be reunited again as her publisher. Debbie’s novels are full of friendship, family, joy, tears and laughter, and every book she writes is a warming hug of a read."
Macomber added: "I’m excited to publish with Sphere and once again work with Cath Burke. This partnership will allow for even more opportunities to connect with my UK readers."
Macomber is a prolific writer, the author of more than 150 romance novels as well as contemporary women’s fiction. She has sold 1.28 million books in total for £5.7m through Nielsen BookScan UK, with her bestseller 2010’s Falling for Christmas (Harlequin, Mills & Boon), on 44,328 copies sold. Her two 2019-published titles were July’s Window on the Bay (Cornerstone/ Arrow), which has sold 18,013 copies to date, and November’s Mrs Miracle Christmas (Cornerstone/ Arrow), which has sold 6,796 copies to date.
