Magic Cat has acquired rights to How to Grow a Garden, a new illustrated children’s book by Gardener’s World presenter Frances Tophill.
Featuring illustrations by Charlotte Ager, this non-fiction title is designed to give children the tools to explore their gardens and inspire them to have fun outdoors.
Jenny Broom, co-founder of Magic Cat, acquired world rights to the text from Charlotte Robertson of Robertson Murray.
Tophill said: “It has been a real honour to be involved in creating an exciting and immersive adventure through the every-day magic of a garden. For me, plants are a never-ending fascination; I turn to nature for all my inspiration and in this book I have tried to capture what makes nature so incomparably captivating.”
Broom said: “Frances takes readers by the hand with this book and introduces them in the most accessible and inspiring way to get growing. I can’t wait to see it in the muddy hands of children everywhere next spring.”
Tophill is the author of five books, including the bestselling Rewild Your Garden. Ager is an illustrator and a keen gardener herself.
How to Grow a Garden will be released in February.
