Mardle Books signs 'compulsive' mortuary account from Marshall and Watson-Brown 

Mardle Books has secured Sorry For Your Loss, a “compulsive” read from Kate Marshall with Linda Watson-Brown.  

Publisher Jo Sollis acquired world all language rights directly from the author. It will be published on 21st July 2022 in paperback, e-book and audio.  

Sorry For Your Loss follows Marshall in her first year working in a mortuary at a major NHS hospital in the north of England. She tells a “haunting, uplifting and informative story, with many moments of laughter, and an overall feeling that the way we approach death can make life all the more precious”.   

“This is such a compulsive read,” said Sollis. “Kate’s reassuring and warm voice shed light on the little known job of managing death, while  also reminding us of the extraordinary love, eccentricity and drama of everyday life. We are delighted to be publishing her story.”
